Your coordinator will not be dealing with payment beyond the original payment.
Note: The co-ordinator has not done this trip before. If route-finding /conditions become difficult, the scramble maybe changed
Itinerary:
Distance: 12.4km Elevation Gain: 800m "Magic Mushrooms. Cannabis. Tequila. Lake O'Hara. All will get you high. And all are controlled substances..." Such is the description of this iconic region of the Canadian Rockies. Considered to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet, the area is highly restricted and thus very difficult to get a reservation. Upon arrival at the Lake O'Hara bus parking lot, we will take the shuttle bus to the trail head and do the circuit. The Alpine Circuit traverses high above the Lake O'Hara basin and allows you to survey much of the region's best scenery on a single outing. However, most of this circuit is not over traditional trail, but instead follows rough paths, paint marks and cairns across steep slopes, through rockslides, and along exposed ledges. The circuit was once called the Alpinist's Traverse, an appropriate name when stormy weather or lingering snow transforms the hike into a hazardous expedition.
Yet when the weather is fine, and the route is bare and dry, the scramble around this inspired route is surprisingly straightforward. But even under the best conditions, it should only be undertaken by fit hikers who are not bothered by exposed heights.

Note: We MUST be at the shuttle bus parking lot by 8:15 AM and so will need to leave Calgary by 5:30 AM . |
