Itinerary:
Starting at the Big H, we'll ride clockwise around the lake, towards the Weaselhead.

Total distance for the loop is about 20 km, mostly flat except for the hill down to the river at North Glenmore Park, and up again on the south side of Weaselhead. Exertion level varies with the amount and consistency of the snow.

Watch out for ice in shady, north-sloping hills, as for the past week it has been melting in the day and freezing at night. There are only a few places like this, walk your bike if it seems necessary.

Required Items to Bring:
-A mountain bike with studded tires (or really wide knobby tires set at lower pressure should work).
- Bike Helmet with a thin toque or balaclava (A Ski Helmet also works well for this event).
- Good lights-at least 10 watts or 250 lumens along with batteries good for 2+ hours.
- Warm clothes, in layers, as for XC skiing (cycling and skiing generate similar amounts of body heat).
- Backpack with water or warm drink in a bottle, snacks, dry socks and extra clothing layers.
