Itinerary:

Please note carpool location (we'll be under lamppost 'B' )! Thanks!

This trip is intended for all levels of skiers and boarders. We'll do one or two warmup runs together, and then break off into similar-ability groups for the rest of the day. We'll meet as a group for lunch and at the end of the day.

Note: Beginner / novice skiers and boarders must be capable of:
* executing controlled (snowplow) turns and stops on gentle slopes without instruction
* skiing / boarding in control at all times
* using chairlifts without assistance

  • We will be leaving the carpool at 7:00 a.m. to arrive at the top of the Gondola by 9:00 a.m. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can arrange carpooling and depart on time.
  • The group will meet up for lunch around 11:30 a.m. at a location agreed upon by everyone - you are welcome to bring your own lunch or buy something on the hill.
  • We'll re-group at the Creek Side Pub /Cafe at the gondola base between 4:00 and 4:30 pm, with carpools leaving for Calgary at 4:30 pm.
  • Because this is a group event, those who cannot wait for everyone to ride the gondola together, meet for lunch, or re-group to depart at 4:30 PM, are asked to sign up for another event please.
  • At the time of posting, day ticket cost: about $80; Basic rental package: $40 payable at the resort.

  • Please note that skiing/snowboarding activities have inherent risks involved, and that rental packages now include helmets. Check to find the terrain most suitable for you: http://skibanff.com/the_mountain/terrain.php

    If you would like to drive: please indicate what type of vehicle you plan to drive, whether or not it is equipped with snowtires, and how many people and gear (INCLUDING yourself) you can take. Should this information change prior to the trip, please advise the coordinator accordingly. Thanks!
