Itinerary:
The COC Training Program

The objectives of the Calgary Outdoor Training Program in 2011 are to:
a) provide educational sessions to members
b) raise awareness about different aspects of the outdoors
c) increase the members' safety while enjoying their activities in the mountains
d) provide everyone the opportunity to ask pertinent questions

Enjoying your mountain adventure isn't just about picking the perfect place, it's about preparing yourself with skills and education.

MEC has therefore kindly offered to give us a customized presentation on the following:

-The basics of a GPS unit in conjuction with mapping
a:How to use UTM?
b:How to mark a waypoint at a trailhead and other key junctions on the trail.
c:Other basic information.

-SPOT:the pros/cons.

-Satellite phone: pros/cons.

This presentation will take place upstairs in the the Kids section where the Product Team room is located.No DROP-IN'S or GUESTS allowed. You must be registered.

MEC is putting this presentation on for COC members only-not for the general public
