You are STRONGLY encouraged to read this page in its entirety before signing up. If you'd like to attend, we ask that you abide by our rules and procedures as a time/cost saving process (with an end result of keeping membership free and lower cost events).

Itinerary:
  • Skiing/Snowboarding activities have inherent risks involved. Rental packages now include helmets.

  • FYI, day adult lift tickets costs $80, basic rental package costs $40 payable at the resort (not to me).
  • We will meet at the Creek Side Pub at the gondola base.
  • This is a group event, so those who cannot wait for all to ride to the village together, and be back on time for the departure time set by your driver, please sign up for another event.
  • If you want to avoid further line ups, buy your tickets prior. Intermediate and above skiers or snowboarders are welcome.

    We will leave the carpool at 7:00 to arrive at the top of the Gondola by 9:00. Please call the coordinator (403-618-8865) if you are going to be late. Please do not be late more than 5 mins.

    We will meet up for lunch at the restaurant on the second floor of the Day Lodge at noon. This is optional. If you are having fun skiing, you may continue on.

    At the end of the day (4:30 p.m.), we will meet at the Creekside Pub at the base.

    If you would like to drive please indicate in the notes section how many people including gear you can take in your car, as well as what type of vehicle you will be driving.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take the TransCanada west to the Sunshine turnoff, it's about 4kms west of the Banff turnoff. Exit to the right and continue up to the resort parking lot.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $84.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Tuesday, April 16, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.

  • Terrain Classification: This event is exempt from avalanche planning because it is a Downhill Ski Event (at a Downhill Ski Resort). No out-of-bounds skiing is permitted for this event.
  • Note that COC event coordinators are volunteers and are not trained guides. All participants are responsible for assessing the current road conditions, current weather conditions, current trail conditions and current avalanche conditions for the trip.
