The COC Training Program
The objectives of the Calgary Outdoor Training Program in 2012 are to:

a) provide educational sessions to members
b) raise awareness about different aspects of the outdoors
c) increase the members' safety while enjoying their activities in the mountains
d) provide everyone the opportunity to ask pertinent questions

While you are hiking have you ever come upon an animal track and wondered what animal was their? You can find the path, route, or course of the animal by examining its track. What are the different tracks for various animals and what type of scat they leave depending on the time of year and what they have been eating. Who left that footprint? Who chewed on that branch? Discover what your neighbors, the bears, deer, cougar, etc... are doing as they move about in the night. In this presentation you will learn how to identify the tracks and signs of our most common wild neighbors and discover a whole new world outside your door.

PLEASE ONLY REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT ATTENDING. MEC has been kind enough to offer us this new presentation just for COC - not open to the general public. Unreasonable last minute cancellations (2 hours or less prior to event) which prevents others from attending the event will be recorded as a "no show".

If you have a history of cancelling at the last minute or no shows, kindly please do not sign up. Thank you for your consideration for other COC members.

****Out of consideration for the guest speaker, kindly please do not text and turn off your phones during the presentation. Thanks****
