Come and join us for this WOW hike!!

One of the best loop hikes within the Banff vicinity, the Mt Edith- Cory Pass loop is a 12.8 km trail for strong hikers only. We will go counter-clockwise and thus at the first trail junction at 1.1km - this will take us first towards Edith Pass, then we will skirt around the back through Gargoyle Valley and the dog-tooth spire of Mt. Louis looming above to the north. Eventually we'll ascend up to the Cory Pass, which opens up to expansive views of the Bow Valley and many of the mountain ranges across the valley. The trail then drops mercilessly down the south face, - hiking poles are a godsend on this slope.

Before you sign up please read below:
1. There is a very small rock band to climb(you must be comfortable to do this, there is no turning back)
2. There will be a few places with tricky footing.

NOTE:This event may be canceled if chance of snow or rain is high for the day of the event.

PACE:
Please note that this is NOT a hike for SPEED Demon's OR if you are an advanced hiker who insists on a fast pace.We will be hiking Moderate pace on gentler grades and at a Slower pace on Steeper terrain . If you're not sure about this hike, feel free to contact the coordinator and remember to always hike within your ability in order to be able to keep up with the group. If you have not hiked Recently hiked with similar elevation and distance, it is highly recommended that you start with lower elevations and build up from there. If you're use to "slowpoke pace hikes" then this hike is not for you- .

++++Please be sure you are confident in your ability to cover the stated distance and elevation, since we are Not turning back.++++

******* Note that COC event coordinators are volunteers and are NOT trained guides. All participants are responsible for their OWN safety and equipment. One should come prepared as if they were hiking by themselves.*******

We are out to enjoy the day-do not be in a rush to get back to Calgary-time may vary)
