Note: This event requires a strong fitness level and is best suited for intermediate to strong hiking participants.

We will start at the parking area by Prairie Creek, following the creek ~9.2K until it crosses Powderface Trail (gravel road). We walk along the road for ~2.7K and join the Powderface Pass trail for the 2.5K push to the pass, returning to the vehicles on the Powderface trail.

Required Items to Bring:
Hiking boots with a good grip, appropriate clothing, water, lunch, lots of snacks.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Coming from the North: follow the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) to the Highway 22 overpass, follow Highway 22 through Bragg Creek to the Highway 66 Junction, turn right and follow Highway 66 to the Elbow Falls turn-off, the parking area is a very short distance down the road on the left. Coming from the carpool: leaving the Canadian Tire parking lot turn right onto Richmond Road, take a quick left on to Sarcee Trail then the next right onto Highway 8. At the junction of Highway 22 follow the round-about to travel SW on highway 22 to Bragg Creek. The other directions apply. From the South: connect onto Highway 66 and follow the directions to Elbow Falls.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $33.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Tuesday, April 16, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
