Itinerary:
IMPORTANT - Read:
   · We will be going at a relaxed pace . If you are a speed demon who wishes to race to the top, do not sign up for this event. If the weather is nice, we'll have a long summit break.
   · This event will only go ahead with two full cars of four people each in order to keep carpool costs reasonable.
   · You must have completed at least three D5+ events in the past year in order to attend.
Your coordinator will be checking your event history.
   · Do not be in a rush to get back to the city. We are out to explore and event duration may vary.

Distance: 12.7km
Elevation gain: 1,258m
Maximum Elevation: 2,571m
Pace: Relaxed
Eye Candy: Towering rocks, pinnacles, expansive vistas

Emerald Peak is mostly a steep hike, with sections of scrambling at the top. The intent is to turn this day into a loop, heading first to Hamilton Lake, then up Emerald Peak, and down the avalanche slopes right towards Emerald Lake. Come ready to explore, a bit of route-finding may be required through the massive boulders near the summit, and allow time for some stunning photography. We may be lucky to find the little 'tunnel', so this should be a scenery eye candy. You can see great photos of the peak here.

Rock helmets are absolutely mandatory, as are all other items noted below. Otherwise you stay back in the city.
