Distance: 18 km Elevation gain: 475 m Pace: Relaxed Glacier Lake is a large turquoise coloured lake that features the immense cliffs of Mount Outram towering above and the icy walls of Lyell Glacier standing at the end of the lake. The round trip to the lake is 18km mostly through forest. Those who want to, can continue along the lake for better views of Lyell Glacier (how far will depend on the conditions and time). Expect to be back in Calgary late, as we may stop for dinner on the way back.

Event Directions: | Take highway #1 westbound to about 2 kms past Lake Louise overpass and head north on the Icefields Parkway for approx. 80 kms and turn left into the Glacier Lake parking area 1 km north of Saskatchewan Crossing. It is about an hour's drive from Lake Louise to Sask. Crossing. | ||||||
