Itinerary:
Let's celebrate Canada's birthday at one of the most scenic places in the country!
Mt. Fairview provides one of the best viewpoints of Lake Louise and the surrounding mountains. In particular, the stunning North face of Mt. Temple and its hanging glacier will make it difficult to keep our eyes on the trail as we climb to the summit from the Saddleback.
Once on the summit, it seems as if Lake Louise is directly beneath your feet over a kilometer below.
The trail starts near the Lake Louise boat house, climbing gently for 3.7 km (595m elevation gain) to the Saddleback. A well- maintained trail then winds its way up to the summit through a boulder field.

While Fairview appears in Alan Kane’s “Scrambles in the Canadian Rockies,” it is not a scramble and there is a hiking trail all the way to the summit.
