Trail description

I was able to find a trip report on this hike that was done on Saturday. They mentioned there was snow on the way up which is no shock to me. The description of the hike indicated no major issues regarding snow. I also want to let you know if for some reason I do not deem the conditions safe we will not be going to the top. But ultimately my goal is to make it to the top but safety first.

Although this trip is mostly a hike, there are still some sections which are very steep and/or off-trail hence the reason why the event is recommended for STRONG hikers only. We will go at a relaxed pace.

We will start from Lake Louise and take one of the more popular trails in the Rockies up towards Lake Agnes. From there we will head towards the Little Beehive lookout to admire the views prior to taking the trail up to Mount Saint Piran. While Mount Whyte and Mount Niblock dominate the view from the summit, we will also have some great views of Lake Louise, Mirror Lake, Lake Agnes and the Bow Valley.

Mount Saint Piran is listed as an outstanding hike in the book entitled "Don't waste your time in the Rockies". Extract from the book "A spectacular summit where mountain addicts can feed their obsession and initiates might acquire a healthy addiction..." Happy to get addicted to those any time !

*** Please only register if you have done other hikes or scrambles with an elevation gain of 750 meters or more in the past. I will check your history if I have never hiked with you.

*** Also, if people are interested we can stop in Canmore for dinner afterwards.

Park in the lot there, and then meet at the lakeshore (follow the short trail from the parking lot up to the lake and loiter there - you'll see the boathouse to your left, and the Chateau to your right).
