Itinerary:
Road/Pathway Cycle Event - Total Distance 94km

*NOTE:* First 4 to sign up will not have to worry about transportation - we have room for 4 in first vehicle including bikes.

This event is not for beginners, you should be comfortable biking the stated distance at an average pace of close to 20km/hr. That being said, our goal is not to rush through it but maintain a reasonable pace while still allowing for opportunities to enjoy brief rest stops at some of the more scenic points along the way.

A beautiful scenic ride from the Canmore Visitor Centre to Banff via a paved 26 km trail that leads right to the Bow Valley Parkway where we'll continue on for an additional 17km to our lunch spot at spectacular Johnston Canyon. Complete washroom facilities, gift shop and cafe on site. If conditions are favourable please allow up to 1 hour here.

The Banff Legacy Trail, built to commemorate Parks Canada’s 125th anniversary, was completed in the fall of 2010. It is a scenic three metre wide, 22 kilometres-long, commuter trail. The route runs parallel to the highway and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. In 2013 the trail was extended an additional 4.5 km from the Banff park east gate to the Canmore Visitor Centre.

We'll start at the visitor's centre in Canmore, (see map below) ride the trail into Banff where we'll weave our way through town eventually ending up on Vermillion Lakes Road and finally the Bow Valley Parkway.

Note:Priority may be given to those who can haul more than their own bike. When you register, PLEASE answer the carpool question. Those who cannot accommodate any passengers are still welcome to drive themselves but obviously we are hoping to carpool as many as possible.
