Itinerary:
Road Cycle Event - Drumheller Valley - Total Distance 80km

Leg 1: From Centennial Park in Drumheller, a 50km long, hilly panoramic loop around the valley via Dinosaur Trail. We'll take a short break at the Horsethief Canyon Lookout, cross the Red Deer River on the historic Bleriot Ferry (free) and enjoy the sights from the Orkney viewpoint before making our way back into town. Allow up to 3 hours

BREAK: We can take a bit of a breather once we arrive back in town. Grab a drink or bite to eat if desired and recharge our batteries before heading out on the final leg of our journey.

Leg 2: Depart Drumheller on a much shorter (30km), level, out and back trip through an intimate canyon to Wayne via the road of 11 bridges. We'll visit the Last Chance Saloon and historic Rosedale Hotel before making our way back the same way we came. Allow up to 2 hours.

Pace: Expect a steady yet relaxed pace of about 20km/hr. This is a very scenic area and we will likely make brief stops from time to time to enjoy it. Please allow 5-6 hours excluding drive time to complete this event due to varying participant abilities, weather/wind conditions, breaks, unforseen circumstances etc.

This event is not for beginners, you should be comfortable biking the stated distance at an average pace of 20km/hr. That being said, our goal is not to rush through it but maintain a reasonable pace while still allowing for opportunities to enjoy brief rest stops at some of the more scenic points along the way.

Note:Priority may be given to those who can haul more than their own bike. When you register, PLEASE answer the carpool question. Those who cannot accommodate any passengers are still welcome to drive themselves but obviously we are hoping to carpool as many as possible.
