Itinerary: | |||||||
Remembrance Day takes on an even greater significance this
year. Over 3,100 white crosses - each representing a southern
Alberta fallen soldier - have been installed on a plot of land on
the north side of Memorial Drive as an annual tribute to those
who gave their lives for freedom. Every cross has a name and a
story. Learn more at Field of Crosses.
This year, I have decided to attend the Remembrance Day ceremony for the first time. We will meet at the Sunnyside LRT station and walk to the Field of Crosses. I'd like to cross the 10th Street bridge, walk on the south side of the Bow River, then cross back at Eau Claire. It should take approximately 35 minutes one way. If you are bringing your 4-legged buddy, ensure they are on a leash at all times and in control - don't forget the poop bags! | |||||||
