IMPORTANT - Read:
· This is a Nootka Trail training backpack, which means that I will give preference to those who have already attended the pre-trip planning event. Everyone will automatically end up on the wait list. Any spots not claimed by Nootka trip people by March 4 will be given to people on the wait list. · Four campsites have been booked for eight people. Everyone must share tents (2 people/tent), possibly co-ed. First people to pay get first dibs on tent sharing. · Do not send payment until you have been approved for this trip. First preference to Nootka Trail attendees. Beyond that, I will ask you for your hiking and/or backpacking experience if you are newer to the COC. · Required gear & equipment: It is expected that you figure out all shared equipment (tent, stove, etc.) with your tent-sharing buddy. You are responsible for the rest of your backpacking gear (sleeping bag, pad, etc.). · Cancellations/Refunds: Once you have paid, you are committed to the trip. No refunds will be given and your coordinator will not be dealing with payment beyond the original payment. Should you need to cancel, you may make arrangements with the next person on the waiting list if (and only if) they meet all the requirements above. · Long Weekend Alert: This trip is for the Friday and Saturday night of the long weekend (NOT Saturday and Sunday nights).
When signing up
you must e-mail responses to the following to
the coordinator:
Trail Stats & Description: This will be a relatively easy backpacking trip. Elevation gain is quite minimal, the trail is wide and well-traveled, and a lower- elevation location was chosen as this is generally one of the first backcountry campgrounds to be snow-free (no guarantees though ...). We'll be out for a relaxed weekend, so time to get out that backpacking gear for the summer. For trail description and photos, check out this Glacier Lake page.
Friday:
Saturday:
Sunday: As this is a Nootka Trail training trip, we can test out various tarp set-ups and practice food hangs. We are allowed to have a campfire at this campground.

Carpool Cost: | Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $150.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Friday, March 29, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle. | ||||||
