Itinerary: | |||||||
Distance: 10.9 kms Total Elevation: Approx 350-375 meters We will head west via Tiger Lily and Badger Bowl coming around to Bowbend Trail, connect with Glenbow Trail and do Yodel Trail. We will stay on pathways at all times. Note that we may need to alter our route if conditions/pace dictate. Since it is a day use park only, we need to be back at the parking lot by 9 pm. We will enjoy the scenery and make brief stops to take photos. Terrain varies from Foothills Parkland to that more reminiscent of Alberta’s Badlands. The unique geology of the Bow River Valley and a pristine environment has allowed the Ranch to become a sanctuary to animals of all kinds. The large size and ideal location of the park has allowed a number of Alberta’s wildlife to co-exist in an almost unnatural abundance. The pathways have many steep sections, and there can be long distances between parking lots, washrooms, and viewpoints. *As there is wildlife in the park, the event will be cancelled if there are less than 4 people registered. | |||||||

How to Get There: | |||||||
Event Directions: | Take the Trans Canada Highway west. Merge onto Stony Trail North. Exit onto Crowchild Trail westbound. Stay on Crowchild Trail heading northwest out of Calgary. This turns into Highway 1A. Approximately 9 km west of the traffic lights at Bearspaw Road turn left onto Glenbow Road. Follow Glenbow Road south for about 2.8 km to the Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park Parking lots. The lots are located on the right hand side of the road, before you pass through the park gates.
