Itinerary:
IMPORTANT - Read:
   · This will be a combined trail/off-trail hike.
If you enjoy getting off the beaten path and like to explore, including some light bushwhacking, then this hike is for you.
   · We will be going at a slower pace for the uphill portions, and more moderate for the downhill.
   · You must have hiked 15km+ at least a few times in the past year in order to attend.
   · Do not be in a rush to get back to the city. We are out to explore and event duration may vary.

Bring a tarp, thermarest, and triangular bandages if you want to learn some tricks :-).

Distance: 17-18km
Elevation Gain: 450m
High Point: Approximately 1,900m

Seen from afar, Corral Mountain (given this name due to its proximity to Corral Creek) looks like a horn with a steep drop to one side. The summit appears almost like a spire - a rewarding spot for a spring hike. Bob Spirko even calls the approach enjoyable, which must mean something for a spring hike. We will follow Bob Spirko's route for the most part, but due to the warm weather, may not be able to take the shortcut through the swampy area. Definitely expect some wet ground conditions - mud, water, some ice - and plan accordingly. Note that as this is an explorer hike, the actual route may vary due to the conditions that we encounter. Check out this description and this video to get a sense of the terrain.
