Itinerary:
NOTICE - This is a paid event requiring pre-payment to be added to the event. Please read the whole event description for full details.

We raft the Kicking Horse in the afternoon Saturday so departing Calgary Saturday morning is possible. This will depend somewhat on carpool arrangements.

Free camping is available with Alpine Rafting on a first come first served basis at their beautiful and rustic riverside campground (located between Field & Golden B.C.). **PLEASE NOTE: this campground has established campsites, firepits and outhouses, but NO running water or electrical hook-ups.

We will assemble as a group prior to starting the rafting trip at about 1:30pm. We should be off the river and done by approx 7:30pm. Although this would allow a very late return to Calgary, the recommended option is to stay over and enjoy the group camaraderie for the evening.
In addition to the free camping, there are other campgrounds, hotels, or motels, further west in Golden. More details available later.

Included in this spectacular 24 Kilometres is a wild journey through Yoho National Park and the Canadian Rockies. The remote wilderness surrounding gives us an opportunity to catch a glimpse of wildlife in a natural setting. Rafting the heart-thumping Class 2 to 4 of the Middle Canyon Rapids, we push forward to the relentless rapids of the Legendary Lower Canyon. Known for intense Class 3 to 4+ rapids and deep canyon walls everything is a blur as you charge through one of North America’s most intense whitewater canyons.

Alpine provides everyone with a wet suit, neoprene booties and gloves, goretex spray jacket, helmet and PFD. More information on them can be found at
http://www.alpin erafting.com .

Sunday is open to all sorts of options (**Some activities have additional costs associated - contact your coordinator for more information)
- Hikes in Yoho National Park or around Golden
- Mountain biking @ Kicking Horse Mountain Resort**
- Gondola trip & tour of Grizzly refuge**
- Chillin' at the river side campsite

I am planning on coordinating a COC bike event for the Sunday. I'm hoping we will have other coordinators who may be interested in coordinating a hike or other activity. These Sunday activities will be organized depending on trip participants and interest, with details to be shared closer to the event.

NOTE: A planning session will be held in the week before the trip to coordinate car pooling, Sunday activities, and trip details.

When you sign up to the event you will be added to a wait list. Further info and details on making the payment will be emailed to you. Once your deposit payment has been confirmed, you will be moved to the event list. This will be on a first confirmed/first added basis.
Please do not sign up to this event unless you are committed to attending. Anyone withdrawing from the event list four days or less prior to the event may lose their payment and will receive a "no-show" on their record.
