Quoting from Lori Beattie's Calgary's Best Hikes and Walks, "The paved path along the Bow River takes you to this treed hike. Enjoy peephole views of the Bow River before reaching the summit and neighbourhood of Valley Ridge. Loop back down along the paved path or backtrack through the forest."

We will first meet just outside the park's Lagoon Cafe and start the hike from there. We will have two options: a short (approx. 1.25 hour hike) option stays on the south side of the river and returns to the parking lot by a path through the forest. A longer (approx. 2 hour hike) option crosses the river under Stony Trail, hikes along Baker Park, crosses back over the river and back to the start. We'll decide which option to take when we meet. The hike will end back at the Lagoon Cafe.
