Hike Description
Mount Lipsett is named after Major General Louis James Lipsett, a Senior Officer who commanded the 3rd Canadian Division during WW1. The only resemblance to war on this Mount would be the jagged sections that look like battlements. The only battle that will face us today will be hiking a portion of switchbacks along an old logging road through the forest where it may be boggy at times. Once you conquer that part of the trail, then the reward is a parade of peaks as far as you can see, highway 40 far below, wide-open vistas to the south, west and north plus massive Mist Mountain to the east. To top that off, there is the opportunity to see an array of wildflowers amongst the rock formations. Even if it is cold and windy on top of Mount Lipsett, we will still take time to explore but will seek shelter for our lunch break. Come prepared for all weather conditions. This will be an out and back hike.
