Itinerary: | |||||||
Park off the Trans Canada Highway below Mt Norquay and
ride up the road 6km to Norquay's parking lot where the lower
trail starts. Park just north of the highway on the access road
that is just north of, and parallel to Hwy 1)
It is a fairly steep, rooty 2 km climb up to Upper Stoney Squaw. There are two options down from the summit to Lower Stoney Squaw trail which is a fast, often rocky, flowy 5.2 km downhill section on Lower Stoney Squaw that ends at the TransCanada Highway. As it isn't too long of ride we may head into town and take a trip down Star Wars or some of the Tunnel Mountain trails. There are some steep parts on the descent and technical sections. You should be a solid intermediate rider. We may go for drinks and snacks afterward so consider this when carpooling! | |||||||
