Itinerary:
Round trip: 11.3 km
Elevation gain: approx 660 meters
Pace: Slow and relaxed

The first half to Rawson Lake is an easy, steady incline on a well-established trail, popular on the weekends. The second part, to Sarrail Ridge is steep, and not quite a scramble but the use of poles is recommended. I am told the climb is worth it for the awesome view of Upper Kananaskis Lake to the North and Rawson Lake to the South East. It is grizzly area so bring bear spray if you have it.

Since most of the hike is an incline, the pace will be slow and relaxed. No speed demons please, and all participants are expected to stay with the group. We are out to have a relaxing day and enjoy the scenery. Do not make plans for the early evening because we will take the time we need to get to the top and enjoy the views at the top and along the way. We will not rush because someone has dinner plans. It has been suggested to allow 5 to 7 hours. We'll park at the Upper Lake Day Use parking lot.

Drivers are needed for this event to go forward. When you sign up please indicate if you are willing to drive. I will add people to the event as I receive confirmed drivers. Please do not sign up unless you are serious about attending.

This trip is best suited to experienced hikers. Some parts of this trail are quite steep. A full hiking boot will be required for this hike. No runners or low cut footwear allowed.
