With a waterfall seemingly tucked-in at almost every point on the trail, this is one of the great day-hikes in Yoho National Park. We will visit Angel's Staircase Falls & Point Lace Falls, the Yoho River rapids, Laughing Falls, Twin Falls Creek, and finally the spectacular double cascade – Twin Falls, before we stop in at the Twin Falls Tea House. And the grand finale – Takakkaw Falls – still awaits us once back at the parking lot. That adds up to six waterfalls in one hike.

The trail starts from the northeast side of Takakkaw Falls parking lot, with the first 6.9 km of the trail being relatively flat and the last 1.5 km being a steady climb on switchbacks to Twin Falls. The final 100 metres takes us to the Twin Falls Tea House, a two-storey Swiss-style chalet built in 1908. We will have lunch at the tea house and return the way we came. And the grand finale will be the 500 m walk from the parking area to the viewpoint for Takakkaw Falls. With a free fall of 254 metres, these falls are the third highest in Canada.
