Distance - 10 km, round trip
Elevation Gain - 810 m Pace: RELAXED Proper Hiking Boots required, sorry NO runners and NO Jeans/Sweat Pants (cotton - fabric of death when cold). Thanks +++Drivers needed+++ Wasootch Ridge offers an interesting series of climbs and decents. The ascents are persistent up a long ridge on the east side of Kananaskis Valley. Once on top of the ridge you'll get 360 degree views all around. We will not do the extended part beyond the ridge and will stop at the cairn on the ridge where the terrain is flat to have lunch. +++ PLS NOTE: At this time of year icers/micro-spikes are required; you never know what you will encounter. No icers = no hike -- sorry.+++ We will be hiking at a RELAXED Pace (slow going up and moderate on flat). If you do not want to stay with the group at this pace, pls find another hike. If you're not sure about a hike, feel free to contact the coordinator and remember to always hike within your ability in order to be able to keep up with the group. If you have not recently hiked this year 600M+, this hike is not for you. This hike
is not recommended for members who have not yet hiked this
year with similar elevation. PLS remember that hiking in the
winter is
alot harder then in the summer.
