Approx. Distance: ~13.6km return
Elevation Gain to Pass: ~509m Hiking footwear required-Sorry no runners or jeans/track pants (the fabric of death in cold weather) ++++DRIVERS needed++++ Come and join us on this hike and get your exercise "fix." The early part of the trip is along fairly level trail with most of the elevation gain being in the last 3 km. Once the pass has been reached a wonderful view of the Powder Creek Valley is available. +++ PLS NOTE: At this time of year icers/micro-spikes are required; you never know what you will encounter. No icers = no hike -- sorry.+++ Please note that we will take a few breaks/snacks/water however please note that we will not be stopping every 10 minutes for a break. We will have lunch at the pass. PLEASE NOTE: Do not be in a rush to return to Calgary, we are out to enjoy the day and time may vary. +++ TIP for NW members:If you live in the NW, probably a good idea to meet directly at the trailhead.
PACE: Relaxed pace when
doing
the
uphill portions and moderate for the balance. If you are a
speed
demon
, please sign
up
for another hike. | |||||||
