Proper Hiking Boots required, sorry NO runners and NO Jeans/Sweat Pants (cotton - fabric of death when cold). Thanks

We will be going up a different route then last time. This time the new route will guarantee a more identifiable route and a definite summit shot. There are great views all around. Holy Cross Mountain, in the northwest, dominates the scene.All around are rolling ridges. Directly south is Mount Burke, the tallest peak in that direction, home to an abandoned fire lookout.

+++ PLS NOTE: At this time of year micro-spikes are required. NO studs or coils. Sorry no spikes = no hike.+++

We will be hiking at a RELAXED Pace (slow going up and moderate on flat). If you do not want to stay with the group at this pace, pls find another hike. If you're not sure about a hike, feel free to contact the coordinator and remember to always hike within your ability in order to be able to keep up with the group. If you have not recently hiked this year 500M+, this hike is not for you.

This hike is not recommended for members who have not yet hiked this year with similar elevation. PLS remember that hiking in the winter is alot harder then in the summer.

PLS NOTE:
. Do not be in a rush to get back to Calgary- return time may vary. We are out to enjoy the day and Explore.


Required Items to Bring:
-Micro-spikes
-Proper hiking boots and pack (PLS ensure your PACK is big enough to include extras -- a small water hydration bike pack that only fits your water hydration pack and small lunch is too small...one should always be ready for the unexpected)
-NO Sling pack.
-Plenty of water (min 1L )
-Toque and at least 2 pairs of mitts.
-Lunch
-Extra pair of socks (if your current socks get wet, your feet will freeze).
-Dress in layers.
-First-aid kit
-Change to pay your driver.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $64.50 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Saturday, April 20, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
