Distance: 6 kilometers roundtrip
Elevation Gain: 1000 meters
Summit Elevation: 2597 meters

A short and steep hike with wonderful views of Kananaskis Valley and Lakes. We will start the hike near Fortress Gas Station. This is pretty much a hike all the way up except for some minor scrambling in a few spots. We will aim for the South Summit and return the same way which we came up.

If you have done Ha Ling Peak, Heart Mtn or Yamnuska Summit, you should do fine with this hike.

All participants must bring hiking boots for this hike.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From Calgary we'll head west on Highway 1 to Highway 40. We'll take Highway 40 and head south for about 41 kms to the Fortress Junction gas station. We'll park at the north end of the gas station parking lot.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $69.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Monday, April 15, 2024).
