Drivers may receive priority from wait list.

Please note that this will be a slower paced hike when going up steeper sections and over rocky terrain. If you are a fast hiker, this may not be a trip for you.


Distance: 15km return
Elevation Gain: 588m
3.5km - Junction with trail #93 to Chester Lake.
3.9km - Bridge junction at Rummel Creek, then take unofficial "summer" route to lake.
5km - Rummel Lake.
7.5km - Pass two tarns, then Rummel Pass with views of Lost Lake. This will be our lunch and turnaround point for this trip.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take Highway 1 west turn south on Highway 40 carry on until just before winter gate and turn right on to Kananaskis Lakes Road. Turn right on to Smith Dorian Trail. Continue a few kilometers pass Chester Lake trail head. Park on east side of the road, just north of the turn-off for Mount Engadine Lodge and Mount Shark.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $87.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Saturday, April 20, 2024).
