Distance: 5km round trip
Elevation Gain: 779m net, 811m total

Little Lougheed is a steep 2.5 kilometer to the summit through forest, boulder fields and scree, with rewarding views of Mt. Lougheed, Mt. Sparrowhawk and Spray Lakes. It is rated as difficult.

Your coordinator has not done this scramble before so this will be an exploratory scramble. There may be some route finding involved.

Only fit and experienced hikers should be signing up to this event. You will be vetted if the coordinators has not hiked/scrambled with you before.

Bear spray
Plenty of water (3 litres)

Rain/wind gear and extra layers regardless of forecast
Bag for dirty shoes/boots

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Follow Trans-Canada Hwy/AB-1 W to Three Sisters Pkwy/AB-742 in Bighorn No. 8. Take exit 93 from Trans-Canada Hwy/AB-1 W. Drive to Three Sisters Pkwy/AB-742 Kananaskis.

Follow the Smith Dorrien Trail for about 24.4 km. Then make a u-turn and park on the side of the road, by the obvious drainage at Spencer Creek.
