Itinerary:
The Calgary Outdoor Club is pleased to announce a new venture with Lou's Performance Centre. In addition to COC club discounts and Lou's sponsorship of the COC with a banner ad, we have arranged for COC members to attend a number of ongoing "learn" events. These will be seminars where we hope our members will be able to learn something new or refresh their memories on familiar topics. Watch for these learn events on the calendar and sign up to join us. You will be entitled to a 10% discount on the evening if you are signed up to the Learn At Lou's presentation.

Learn At Lou's Program

This is associated with the COC Training Program.
The objectives of the Calgary Outdoor Club Training Program are to:
   a) provide educational sessions to members;
   b) raise awareness about different aspects of the outdoors
   c) increase the members' safety while enjoying their activities in the mountains    and
   d) provide everyone the opportunity to ask pertinent questions.

SESSION:

This will be our inaugural session With Lou's Performance Centre. It will be a great session for cross country skiers to learn more and the injury prevention component might help with other disciplines for skiers. Lou's have provided the following details on the evening.

Without doubt some of the strongest most fit athletes are cross-country skiers. Chelsea Deschamps, Lou's speaker on January 14th is the Strength Coach of the Biathlon Alberta Training Centre and the owner of Omnia Movement & Performance. Chelsea will be speaking on strength training to help reduce the likelihood of ACL injury, as well as talking about exercises and training to help learn and strengthen the movement pattern involved in upper and lower body separation. For many skiers “separation" is the holy grail standing in the way of true expert skiing or improving at any level.

Please join us for this interesting evening and bring all your questions. Everyone is welcome, including all your friends so invite everyone.
Start time is 6:00pm
