Distance: ~12km
Elevation Gain: 2680m

This loop begins at Elbow Falls. We'll take a clockwise approach to it, hiking Powderface Creek trail to the junction with Prairie Link trail (3.3km), over Prairie Link trail to Prairie Creek (3.2km), then out Prairie Creek trail back to the parking lot (5.6km). The route has sections of mixed deciduous/coniferous forests, lodgepole pine stands, open meadows, and riverside hiking.
Snow shoes required.

Required Items to Bring:
- Snow Shoes
- Warm winter boots or sturdy hiking boots
- Warm gloves or mitts
- Layered clothing
- Water, lunch, snacks
Recommended Items to Bring:

- Poles
- Camera
- Gaiters (if wearing hiking boots)
- Warm beverages
- Micro-spikes, in the event much of the trail is walkable without snowshoes

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From Calgary, take Hwy 22 south to Bragg Creek. At the traffic lights turn left and proceed South 2km to Highway 66. At the T-junction turn right nd proceed West into Kananaskis Country to Elbow Falls parking lot, where we'll meet.

Terrain Classification: This event is exempted from avalanche planning because it is on an official snow shoe trail
