The trail winds and switchbacks upwards through forests and leads us to panoramic views of the prairies/foothills and surrounding peaks.

Note:
This hike is not recommended for members who have not yet hiked this year.

Please note that this hike will not be going at a super duper pace, but a regular pace so that we can all enjoy the hike with frequent water/snack breaks.

-Comfortable Hiking Boots-sorry NO runners

Drive West on Hwy 1 from Calgary and take the Sibbald Creek Trail (Hwy 68) turnoff. At the Powderface Trail junction turn left and drive south to the Dawson camping area and trailhead for approximately 3km. Park here. The trailhead is at the east end of the parking area.

Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $36.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Tuesday, April 16, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
