This is a Class 1 Scramble - Steep hiking really. (Requires some need of hands for the last bit. Please be prepared however for some loose rock and exposure.)

Note:Sorry no runners
Ha Ling Peak is the impressive pinnacle that rises above Canmore to the southwest . The trail winds up the backside of the mountain & ends up with stunning views across the Bow Valley.

While it might be warm down below at tree line, expect at the top to don a jacket to protect from strong cool winds.

NOTE about Pace: We will be going a good steady pace(faster than "slowpoke pace").

This hike is not recommended for members who have never done or recently done hikes with alot of elevation. There is a lot of elevation gained in a very short distance therefore you should be in good shape for this hike.

Required Items to Bring:
Please note:that for the safety and comfort of the whole group this hike coordinator requires that all participants to carry a properly equipped day pack with suitable clothing, food, water and personal first aid for the hike.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
- It would be a good idea that you bring a fleece and/or shell. At the top it is usually very cold and windy.
