Itinerary:
We will practice the use of the avalanche transceiver.

For those of you who have taken the AST1 (formerly IRAC), this will give you the chance to practice the skills you learned, and it will also allow you to attend backcountry ski events with the COC that travel into Class 2 (Challenging) avalanche terrain.

Do NOT rent an avalanche transceiver if you don't have one - we can share and take turns.

NOTE: You are welcome to attend if you have not taken an avalanche safety course, but this is not designed to replace a formal avalanche course.

For more information on requirements for COC events in avalanche terrain, please see the COC Avalanche Safety Policy
