If you don't have time to head out to the mountains & are looking at getting your exercise "fix" with a quick hike that's close by, then this is the hike to sign up for. The entire area is hilly, including approximately 5+ hills that are rated by the conservation area as being "STRENOUS" to climb (~150 metres each), with elevation gains & losses.

This conservation area consists of 4,800 acres of rolling, foothills land donated for the protection of wildlife habitat.

Required Items to Bring:
-Water
-Snacks
-Hiking boots
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Icers (ice cleats) might be a good idea as some of the hills may be still snow covered/somewhat icy. The majority of the trail that is not in the treed area should be free of snow.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:To get to the event: drive south on Macleod Trail & exit out of town on 22X westbound(Marquis of Lorne). If you drive by Spruce Meadows you know you're heading in the right direction. Shortly after the city limits sign, watch out for 160th Street (a small blue street sign). Immediately turn left(south) on 160th SW till you reach the conservation area. Even though the park gates may be open, you are required to park at the lower parking lot. At that point I will hand out the "special parking passes" that are needed so you are not tagged/towed.
