Calgary Area Outdoor Council presents:
Speaker: Jay Honeyman, from Karelian Bear Shepherding Institute of Canada. Do you worry about an unexpected bear encounter while hiking or camping in the back country and think that the first thing that you should always do is RUN? Are you thinking in the future of being a COC coordinator and need more information in being "bear safe" when bringing a group out? If you've answered "yes", then come on down and attend this informative session and learn more about bear behavior, their preferred habitat, the signs they leave, and how and why they react to humans the way they do. The more you know, the better equipped you'll be to avoid a bear encounter. Be bear smart! ***No shows will be recorded. You need to at event check in with the coordinator.*** PLEASE NOTE:Since space is very limited and out of consideration of your COC members, please only sign up if you're 100% sure of attending this extremely informative session. Thanks (; | |||||
