This is my fourth annual wildflower hike. I usually choose an area that is known for spectacular flowers but also one that is an exceptional trip on its own. This hike is sure not to disappoint

Although this is a 'wildflower' hike, it is not necessarily a photography hike. We will occasionally stop to take photos but we can not stop for very long in any given area. Plan for a long day as we may stop for supper in Canmore.

Please Note: This trip is best suited to strong hikers due to the distance and elevation gain. We will need to keep a brisk pace for this hike.

Also note that lush wildflower meadows and green avalanche slopes makes for great grizzly habitat. You must agree to stick with the group for the entire trip in order to participate. .

How to Get There:

Follow the Trans Canada Highway to the Sunshine Village Interchange, 9 km west of the town of Banff. Continue on the Sunshine Road for another 9km to the Bougeau Parking lot at the gondola base station. The Healy Pass trail begins from the parking area behind the base station to the right.

Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $90.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Friday, April 19, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
