Itinerary:
Does anyone else get a bit tired of riding the same trails over and over? Want more adventure? From the Evan-Thomas trail head we head SE up along Evan-Thomas Creek. A good, wide trail climbs fairly gradually for a few km,s, then the trail narrows and becomes rockier. Only a few parts of this ride require a higher skill level, but most strong intermediate riders can enjoy this ride as you can walk some of these short areas. It is about 15 km one way to the pass with about 500m elevation gain, so please gauge your fitness honestly that you can complete the trip. It will not be a fast pace, but a fair bit of work is involved getting to the pass. This is a wet feet trip - as most good mtb rides are. The trail was in the creek for a ways the last time I was there. The pass is a worth the effort as it is pretty place, and there are many great photo opportunities on the way up as well. The trip back is way too much fun . It is a loooong (mostly) downhill ride back out that will leave you grinning for days.
