We will follow a steep trail to Hamilton Lake. After a break we will continue up the ridge on the east side of the lake for excellent views of the Emerald Lake area.

This trip is best suited to strong and experienced hikers. This is mostly a hike with possibly one or two short sections easy to moderate scrambling. We will be keeping a brisk pace for this hike.

We will most likely stop in Canmore for supper so please do not make early evening plans.

Follow the Trans Canada Highway to its intersection with the Emerald Lake Road, 2 km west of the Field townsite intersection. Follow the Emerald Lake Road north 8.5 km to its termination at the Emerald Lake parking area.
