Drivers should not be expected to clean up their vehicles after the run. Dogs are allowed, but they must be leashed at all times. See Kananaskis Country Permitted Activities. Distance: 13.4km Cumulative Elevation Gain: 540m Time: 1.5 - 2 hours running, 1.5 hours driving References: GemTrek “Canmore and Kananaskis Village” topo map. Description: Trail running is running / jogging / fast walking on hiking trails. Compared to road running, the terrain is softer but less even, more scenic, less busy, and often but not always hillier. Because of the uneven and hillier terrain, the pace is typically slower than road running, e.g. 5-6 km/hr (10-12 min/km) uphill and 10-12 km/hr (5-6 min/km) on the flats and downhill. From the the Barrier Dam Day Use Area, we follow Stoney Trail, Jewell Pass Trail, and Prairie View Trail back to the dam. | |||||||
