Itinerary:

For all kayakers who always wanted to learn how to roll or do a refresher. We have organised an exclusive clinic with Aquabatics for you to learn the basics. This is being done in an indoor pool so it will be nice, warm and controlled.

COURSE OUTLINE
These pool based courses are suitable for complete beginners wanting to see ‘how they do that rolling over thing’ to experienced paddlers wanting to refine their technique, or learn a new type of roll. We teach the most modern and effective roll to beginners and to more advanced paddlers we can teach back deck rolls, hand rolls and many others….

PRE-REQUISITE SKILLS REQUIRED
NONE

KEY SKILLS
Our primary focus for this course is to learn the fundamentals of the kayak roll. It is one of the more complex kayaking skills to learn and takes most people several sessions to master. With this in mind we break the roll down into its 5 key components and simplify the motion as much as possible. This allows for easy understanding and productive practice.

WHAT TO BRING
For pool rolling sessions all you need to bring is yourself, and a willingness to be upside down fairly regularly. In saying this it is advisable to bring a light fleece or short wetsuit if you are prone to getting cold in the water, and a nose plug is a good investment ($10 - $15) and can be purchased from Aquabatics or other local paddling stores.

EQUIPMENT
All equipment (river kayak, paddle, PFD, skirt) will be provided. If you get cold easily, you might want to bring a light fleece top or wetsuit. Highly recommended is a nose plug and goggles if you wear contacts or want to see what you're doing.

Course Fee is $65.

Payment is due upon registration. First paid get first dibs so don't be surprised if someone on the waitlist gets on before you

NOTE:
You should know how to perform a braced entry, wet exit and be comfortable spending time underwater upside down.
