From the Barrier Lake Dam, take the old fire lookout access road up to Prairie View Trail. After reaching the Prairie View Viewpoint, an unofficial trail heads up to the Barrier Fire Lookout. We'll probably return the same way but we MAY choose to return via Jewell Pass instead.

Note that we will go as far as we can, conditions permitting, with the goal being to make it to the lookout at the top. If conditions are slippery/treacherous, you will only be allowed to continue to the top if you have icers.
