Itinerary:
This is an easy/intro to backpacking trip for people that always wanted to try backpacking but dreaded a long hike with a lot of elevation carrying a heavy pack. You still must be fit enough to carry a heavy pack for ~ 5 kms.

NOTE: THIS TRIP IS ON A TENT SHARING BASIS ONLY..
There are not enough tent sites available. Please indicate tent mate preference when signing up in your notes to me but be prepared to bunk with anyone if I can't find a suitable buddy.

We will start nice and early on Saturday morning at the Barrier Lake Dam and hike in ~ 5 km (with practically no elevation. Bring the kitchen sink!) to the Jewell Bay Backcountry Campground which is located at the far end of Barrier Lake

After setting up camp, options for further activities include:
- Proceed to Prairie View Lookout via Jewell Pass for the views.
- Soak in the lake or if you manage to lug a raft in (Ben's tempted), then go floating on the lake.
- Just chill with your fav book
- In the evening, we'll hang around the campfire for dinner, marshmellows and all kinds of yummy stuff and regale each other with tall tales and generally have a merry time.

You can rent a backpacking stuff at MEC or UofC Outdoor Center

Note:
- This is also an any fun thing goes event (i.e. be prepared for the unexpected, fun wise, upper stiff lips need not come)
- Note that the cost is PER PERSON. Even if you bring a 10 man tent it is still paid per person. The group size I have represents the max number of people I can take.
- There might be a pretrip meet or maybe not, stay tuned
