Sat, Jun 30 2012 - West Bragg Creek Mountain Biking - Exploration (View Original Event Details)

The weather worked out and it was a nice day. Unfortunately the trails were wet and muddy in many places.
We started off with 14 people, but the group got scattered throughout the day. Early in the trip, a couple of people split off.
Alex had a mechanical problem with his chain and Gord, and others had to go back and help him. They caught up with us, and we started off, but soon afterward they had the same problem and Mike went back with Alex.
At the halfway point we ran into another group of bikers who pointed us to the "Sugar Mamma" trail, which connects from "Snagmore" to "Ranger Summit". This trail was good, but lots of uphill!
On the way up Sugar Mamma one person had cramps which slowed us down, but a couple of the riders couldn't wait and went ahead with out us.
We took Ranger Summit which turned out to be a beautiful downhill!
About 10 of us went to the Saloon in Bragg Creek afterward.
I want to thank Gord and Mike for helping out.
The trail builders did a good job on the new trails, and I'm glad we had a chance to ride them before the start logging.
