Sat, Jan 26 2013 - X Country Skiing - Ribbon Creek (Kananaskis Lodge)(all levels) (View Original Event Details)
|
It was a good skiing day! It was sunny, with the temperature starting off a little colder than expected, around -8C, which made the waxing easier. It warmed up to around 0C, by the time we were done.
The parking lot at the lodge was full, so we had to park on the road.
We started skiing along Terrace trail, which lead us to the Ribbon Creek parking lot. From there we went up Ribbon Creek trail, re-waxed, then up Link.
We waited at the top of Link for awhile for Cheryl. When she finally caught up to us, she was on 1 ski and carrying the other. She couldn't get her foot into the binding! (What's up with that?!) It was only a partially blonde moment on her part as we struggled a bit too, but eventually helped her get her skies on, and away we went!
The group got split up at this point, with some going up Kovach and others doing Aspen.
We regrouped at Woody's, where we had a drink and some snacks before going home.
