British Columbia: you are so beautiful…. What an awesome day to spend in the mountains today ! Sunshine all day, 24 degrees, light breeze (although a bit cooler at the summit), a group of happy & friendly hikers and breathtaking views - what else could we ask for in July in the midst of the hiking season ?

Many hikers may disregard Kindersley Pass & Sinclair Creek due to the long distance (trailhead is close to Radium) however it is rated as an outstanding hike in the Rockies. You should absolutely add it your list of hiking places as it takes your breath away. English is not my first language but I truly learnt the meaning of "breathtaking" when doing those remarkable hikes in this part of the world.

In great company, time always fly and today was no exception. It took us exactly 4 hours to climb to the summit on a clearly marked trail system. The reward of the day was the 360 degree views while having a well deserved 50 minute lunch at the summit. We had the whole trail to ourselves and did not meet any other hikers today which was a bonus. It is as if Mother Nature is putting a show just for us :) The lush vegetation and the wildflowers were the icing on the cake - in some areas we could have literally picked bouquets of flowers.

Heads-up for those of you thinking of heading to Kindersley Pass & Sinclair Creek after checking out the beautiful photos…. there is a grizzly warning in effect. We saw the warning at the trailhead, the clear bear footprints and bear scat but no grizzly…. My theory is that when yelling "Yo Bear" throughout the day with my French accent, it scared the grizzly bears away as it should :-) Please note that there is a minimum of 4 hiker restriction in the area until further notice.

I would like to thank Sylvia & Simon for helping out with the drive - much appreciated given the long distance. We finished this awesome hiking day with dinner at the Drake in Canmore as some were eagerly waiting for that fresh beer or pineapple juice after all the exercise….

Thank you Marcel for accepting to co-ordinate this hike with me and I promise that I will not wait for 5 years to do this hike again… Sylvia described the whole day as "beautiful outstanding visual richness" and Marcel as "Rocky Mountain high" :)

Days like today make this volunteering totally worth it - thank you to all the participants for joining the fun. Hope to see you on the happy & sunny trails soon. Until then, stay healthy, be happy and keep smiling.

PS: Additional photos added on July 28
