Write Up:The word of the day: CRAZY!!
Even though the weather forecast was predicting a sunny day & 16C, we started our journey with a
threatening sky, and unexpectedly had to add some extra layers from the start...
As we gained elevation, it quickly became clear that we were going to have a cold, ridddiculously
windy day.
Ahhh, that good old unpredictable mountain micro-climate!
Despite ongoing exfoliation from the snow hitting everyone's face, the group maintained a cheerful
attitude, and kept going up. Erin's wishful prediction eventually came through when the sun came
out, revealing a nice "snowbow" over the valley. Just before reaching the saddle near the summit,
from which point we could see the snow covered (and probably windier) path ahead, we decided to hike
back down. We all agreed that we would have to come back and get even with Mother Nature in the
near future!
Thanks to Joe and Erin for driving us safely, and thanks to everyone to make my first COC event as a
coordinator an interesting journey - we had a fun group.
