Write Up:
What an amazing fall day in our Rocky Mountains. Our trip began early so we could take full advantage of our slowly lessening daylight. Upon arrive at the Sentinel day use area (or what was left of it) we began our climb towards grass pass. Lively conversation helped carry us up to the pass as the sun played tag with some clouds in the area. After a brief rest, we began our climb towards the Bull Creek hills. At the top of the first hill, when encountered our first real snow patches of the season. We were surprised to find the COC letters written in the snow with an arrow pointing our way. We thought it must be a trail angel helping us out, until slightly later, when a barrage of snow balls sent the group hiding behind trees. As it turns out, our good friend Adrian (who we though was AWOL in Europe) had started the trail in advance of our group and was waiting in ambush on his return trip. The group practiced a couple of primal screams on the way up as well, the final one being "ADRIAN"!!!! At the summit, we enjoyed our lunch and celebrated the October birthdays of two wonderful ladies. On our return trip we stopped by the Boundary Pine for some hugs and photos. A great day and a wonderful group to share it with.
