Season 6 Week 8

Another great group of enthusiastic COC’ers gathered together at Vincent Massey Junior High School tonight to compete for the most coveted prize in all of COC sports, the Dodge Ball Cup and vie for the right to have their name forever engraved on the infamous, Dodge Ball Wall of Fame! As customary, participants received their team assignment based on the playing card they randomly selected from the deck then gathered together with their fellow teammates to introduce themselves and come up with a team name. After a few minutes of bonding, team names were submitted and the quest for GOLD began with the first of 20 round robin match ups.

Each team played 10 times to determine their seeding for the playoffs. Red Eye Express lead the way with a solid 7-2-1 performance followed by Scared Hitless at 6-4, The Hunger at 4-5-1 and last but not least What Do Ya Got? at 2-8.

In the semi-finals, both series required exciting tie breakers to determine a winner. Top ranked Red Eye Express, held off a surging What Do Ya Got? squad to advance to the gold while The Hunger outworked Scared Hitless to earn their spot in the championship final.

In the medal round, both series ended quickly as What Do Ya Got? bounced back nicely from their disappointing semi-final loss to capture the bronze over a stunned Scared Hitless squad while The Hunger feasted on tournament favourite Red Eye Express to steal the gold! Congratulations to The Hunger on your well earned Dodge Ball Cup victory tonight!
